Plex Display Announce New Budget Banner Stand

Plex Display are a UK supplier of portable banner stands. They are a trusted supplier and have been supplying well known roller banners such as the Sidewinder and Genie for many years.

In recent times Plex Display have introduced some lightweight and cost effective stands into their range including the Neo banner stand and more recently the Atom banner stand.

Available in a choice of 800mm or 850mm width, the Atom's features are listed as follows:-

Features

  • Budget roller banner
  • 800m and 850mm widths, single-sided
  • Visible graphic height 2000mm
  • Sure Grip hanger
  • Strong fixed height 3 part bungeed pole set
  • Twist out feet
  • Carry bag included

  • The Atom banner stand bears much similarity to other economical roller banner units that are available but priced at only £6.95 each when purchased in quantities of over 250 units, many importers will be seriously considering whether or not to continue bothering at these prices!

Whereas some budget banner stands come with only a thin nylon sleeve carry bag, Plex inform us that these stands come complete with padded bags. We will be receiving a sample in the next few days and will update this entry soon when the stand has been tested.

Other UK based suppliers of economical banner stands include Ultima, Innotech and Harrison who all carry large stocks of these units that are normally available for same day dispatch if ordered by noon.

    Giant Mosquito Banner Stand Review

The Mosquito banner stand is a lightweight, entry-level banner stand that is distributed via Ultima Displays in the UK. The Mosquito banner stand is essentially a lightweight roller banner that features two twist-out feet thus providing the unit with stability when it is assembled.

There are many similar, economical roller banners to the Mosquito that are currently on sale from one of a number of suppliers. All units originate from the Far East and China in particular.

Most units such as these have an assembled height of around 2 Metres which is achieved via a 3-part pole held together with an elasticated cord. The Giant Mosquito roller banner uses an extra-long support pole with an extendable height of up to 3 Metres and an integral telescopic section that allows for fine adjustment of finished height.

With such a large assembled height, the Giant Mosquito roller banner is ideal for use as company branding or perhaps directional signage in a busy retail or exhibition/conference environment. The additional height provided by the 3M pole as shown means that a good area of the display is clearly visibly above normal head-height.

Construction of the base mechanism of the stand is good but unremarkable and as outlined above, the basic construction is common with most display stands of this ilk.

The stand is available in a choice of widths as follows:-
    •  850mm
    • 1000mm
    • 1200mm
    • 1500mm
    • 2000mm
However, given the relatively lightweight construction of the unit, it is our own personal opinion that for very wide roller banner stands where greater weight and load due to the heavier printed material, a stand with a heavier duty base is preferable.

A data sheet outlining assembly are available from the link below:-

Summary: The Giant Mosquito Banner Stand is a good option for those customers seeking a budget solution banner stand with a larger than normal assembled height. The telescopic pole feature allows subtle variation in height without requiring any modification to the pole.

First Post on The UK Banner Stands Blog

Banner stands are portable exhibition display systems that are commonly used throughout the world. Probably the most common type of banner stand in use today in the retractable or 'roller banner' variety.
In it's simplest form a roller banner works rather like an upside down window blind. The base of the unit sits on the floor and accommodates a spring-loaded roller mechanism that is in-turn attached to a flexible printed graphic panel.

When the stand is being transported the panel is wound-down inside the banner stand thus preventing any accidental damage to the print. To assemble the stand is a straight forward process that simply involves pulling the graphic outwards and away from the cassette until it is fully extended. Once in the extended position, the top of the graphic is normally hooked over a support pole thus providing the finished display.

There are a myriad of manufacturers throughout the world who manufacture banner stands and there is really no standardisation of sizes/specifications. As such, the quality of the finished product is variable from one supplier to another and care should be taken when investing in a stand that will provide multiple uses whilst still looking presentable.

The aim of this blog will be to provide information relating to portable exhibition stands and in particular banner stands over the coming weeks, months and years. This blog is written by Printdesigns Limited who are a UK based company. You can visit our website:-
